Please be aware these frames are designed for a rear disc brake set up and the factory drum brake rear wheel is not going to work. NOTE: 1975-1976 models with a left hand shift will require that the gear shifter be converted to right side shift by changing it internally inside the engine. NOTE: There are no returns on carburetors, electrical items, full frames, hardtails or made-to-order items (such as magnetos) unless there is a manufacturer’s defect. This is needed in most places when titling a custom motorcycle. ![]() This will have the frame's individual serial number (stamped into the the neck of the frame) as well as the purchaser's information. Once you receive the frame you will follow the included instructions and contact the Gasbox and the MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) will be mailed directly to you. ![]() Sportster disc brake rear wheels are a perfect fit, as are Cycle Standard 16 x 3.00 inch rear wheels, such as the Black SKU 010383 or Chrome SKU 010382. This frame is designed for use with disc brake rear wheels, it will not work with stock, early Ironhead drum brake wheels. Lowbrow Customs Rear Chain Adjusters for 3/4 inch Axles are a perfect fit with this frame. The gas tank mounts on this frame are designed for direct bolt on of the Ironhead Sportster Replica Stock Style Gas Tank SKU 007587. The Gasbox Battery Box Adapter Plate allows easy mounting of all Gasbox universal battery boxes to all Gasbox Full Frames and also features an integrated lower fender support. This frame also features integrated upper mounts for Horseshoe Oil Tank SKU 010404. The axle plates are set up for a standard 3/4 inch rear axle and accepts a stock disc brake Sportster rear axle. The rigid rear hardtail section has approximately 4 inches of stretch and is set up to have 2 inches of drop. This stem size is very common and is found on narrow glide front ends on Sportsters 1982 and later, and on Harley Big Twin front ends, including narrow glide, wide glide, OEM and most aftermarket springer front ends. It is set up for a 1" stem, and utilizes 1" stem timken style neck cups. This frame also accepts the stock early style kickstand. This looks much cleaner and keeps the finished chopper looking lean and handling better with a lower center of gravity. Unlike other custom frames, the Gasbox Ironhead frame uses stock motor mounts all around, with the engine cradled low in the frame rails just like a stock bike. All 1 inch tubing, completely TIG welded and made in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. It will also accept 1982-1985 Ironhead Sportster engines, though the rear motor mount on these years needs unbolted and replaced with the earlier rear motor mount, Harley OEM # 16203-67, so it will directly bolt in place. This frame allows direct bolt-in fitment for 1957-1981 Harley Ironhead Sportster engines. The Gasbox full frames are the highest quality and best engineered available. ![]()
